Emergency Medical Technician

An emergency medical technician (EMT) provides basic medical care and monitoring of patients during transportation to and from hospitals, Skilled Nursing Facilities, or other recognized healthcare facilities.

Requirements:

  • Valid State EMT-Basic certification card
  • LA County Expanded Scope of Practice Module
  • National Registry Card for EMT-Basic
  • Valid Healthcare Provider CPR Certification
  • Valid California Drivers’ License
  • Valid California Ambulance Drivers’ Certificate
  • Current DL-51 (DMV medical examiner’s physical)
  • DMV H-6 printout (must not be older than 30-days)
  • National Incident Management System Certification in IS 100b & IS 200b
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain a City of Los Angeles Ambulance Permit (upon appointment)
  • Ability to obtain OCEMS EMT Accreditation (within 30 days of appointment)
  • Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills

Paramedic

Paramedics at AmbuServe provide Advanced Life Support transportation. They have the Los Angeles County Emergency Paramedic Accreditation, as well as certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Requirements:

  • Valid California Paramedic License
  • Current LA County Accreditation
  • Valid Healthcare Provider BLS, ACLS, PALS cards
  • Valid California Driver License
  • Valid California Ambulance Drivers’ Certificate
  • Current DL-51 (DMV medical examiner’s physical)
  • DMV H-6 printout (must not be older than 30-days)
  • National Incident Management System Certification in IS 100b & IS 200b
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain a City of Los Angeles Ambulance Permit (upon appointment)
  • Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills

Critical Care Transport Nurse

A Critical Care Transport (CCT) nurse provides patient care within the Registered Nurse scope of practice utilizing critical thinking skills to manage ill or injured patients during transport between healthcare facilities. Our CCT ambulances routinely transport patients who are unstable and in critical condition, to facilities where a higher level of care can be given.

Requirements:

  • Current unrestricted California RN license
  • Valid California Drivers’ License
  • Valid Healthcare Provider BLS, ACLS, PALS cards
  • DMV H-6 printout (must not be older than 30-days)
  • Two years critical care experience (ER or ICU)
  • Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and/or Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) preferred
  • Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills

Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)

A Critical Care Transport (CCT) respiratory therapist provides care to patient with complicated pulmonary disease processes requiring ongoing assessment and interventions during transport between healthcare facilities. The RCP must manage patients on transport ventilators and CPAP, and are accompanied by EMTs or RNs based on the acuity of the patient.

Requirements:

  • Current unrestricted California RCP license
  • Valid California Drivers’ License
  • Valid Healthcare Provider BLS, ACLS, PALS cards
  • DMV H-6 printout (must not be older than 30-days)
  • Two years critical care experience (ER or ICU) with patients on ventilators
  • Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills

Emergency Medical Dispatcher

At AmbuServe, being a dispatcher is more than just answering a phone or entering a call into the computer aided dispatch system. As the fist line of communication between AmbuServe and our customers, our dispatchers must be able to provide exceptional customer service with the ability to multi-task.

Requirements:

  • Valid California State EMT-Basic certification card or NAEMD ETC certification card
  • Valid Healthcare Provider CPR card
  • Valid California Drivers’ license or DMV ID Card
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Strong computer skills
  • Six months field experience as an EMT-Basic preferred
  • Dispatch experience preferred
